Early in the afternoon on my birthday at the Amherst Brewery with my dad after a day at the Farmer's Market...I heart New England.
"And the sun still shines in the summer time
I'll be yours if you'll be mine
I tried to change, but I changed my mind
Think I'll have another glass of Mexican wine"
~Fountains of Wayne
Well, I am no longer a slacking blogger! It was my birthday this weekend which was filled with lots of food, fun & friends. Then my Internet went down for 3 days...but I am back and with some good stuff. A pic of my family at Sierra Grille on the birthday eve, unfortunately no pics of the food, but this place is great where they have about 4 courses and always vegan options for each. Spiced nuts, olives, Belgian fries, tempeh entree w/green beans & asparagus...yum. Complete with a vegan dark chocolate rum cake I made which got gobbled up before my camera could make an appearance. I'll post the recipe soon.
The next night, a few of my best friends from Boston came in for a delicious birthday dinner at Zen. This AMAZING Asian restaurant downtown Northampton has the best tofu dish I have EVER had...yes competitive with PF Chang's and gets the upper hand because it's local. Not to mention their amazing veg sushi & soups to start.
Also, Tunnel Bar above, the best bar in Northampton, just picture where Frank Sinatra would have swooned.
One other fun fact: Friday I had a substitute private Pilate's teacher and she was not ONLY a vegan BUT was born on my birthday, July 19th! Awesome.
I'm in the recovery phase of the weekend so this morning for breakfast: another tofu/veggie sausage scramble with mushrooms, tomatoes, greens, nutritional yeast, salt, spices, Ezekiel bread w/earth balance, the works.
Lots of good gifts were given as well~ snapshot of the huge poster I got of all the Playbills from NY Broadway '07-'08, good handful of which I have seen. Loves it! Thanks to everyone who was a part of my fabulous birthday! I had a blast!
