QUICK MOFO THOUGHT

I have a very short post today because I have had a wicked busy day and going to see Grace Potter and the Nocturnals concert tonight. YAY!

I am a bad Jew...I have made great vegan Jewish food, hence yesterday's dinner.
BUT on Yom Kippur you are supposed to fast. I can't, it's not in me. (Which is ok because I have ALWAYS been underweight, and my doctor told me I really should never not eat for more then a few hours at time, that gets me off the hook right??) I did take a long walk today and reflected...that's enough atoning for me.

By 1 am LAST NIGHT (yes, I know I couldn't even hold out from dinner till morning) I had to have my peanuts and dark chocolate bedtime snack. I LOVE PEANUTS, as I am sure you know from my survey I just love all nuts!
What is your favorite nut? Because I cannot choose. BUT I can say THIS dark chocolate, Lake Champlain 75% cocoa (the darker the better!) is amazingggg. It was the brand on sale at Whole Foods this week...and I am glad!

Have a great night MOFOs! I promise food porn tomorrow ;)

Hmmm, I'm gonna go with pistachio. Though I don't like the pistachio Lara Bar... weird.

And I hereby decree that you're not a bad Jew! That's impossible considering your fabulous post yesterday! I now know what a matzoh ball is :)

Hey, don't beat yourself up! Not everyone can fast for a day and still function at at least a basic human level! I wouldn't be able to do it either, if I don't eat something every 2 or 3 hours I get shaky and week!

i especially like the almonds...and i can actually find them here and vegan so that makes me happy...
happy jewish holiday time (i know yom kippur is for atonement so is it okay to say that?)

Remember it's how you live your life and treat people that's important...you can atone anyway that's comfortable for you.
What a fun night you had planned.

my fav. nut is pistachio in shell. No nuts in any food!

Funny, your nut discussion reminds me of the Christopher Guest character in Best in Show... listing all the nuts. Hey, that might make a good A-Z challenge.
And I agree with River... in my book, it's not the fasting but the thinking that counts... and clearly VV is a good thinker!

Remember that old country novelty song, "I'm a Nut"? Loved it back in the day, but hadn't thought about it in years 'til I read your blog. Thanks for the memories!
